Our processing of personal data in this service takes place within the framework of Umeå University’s research activities. The legal basis for our processing is “a task carried out in the public interest”. Umeå University is a government agency and has a duty to comply with the rules relating to public documents, government archives and official statistics. The University will therefore also process personal data in the manner required to comply with applicable legislation.
When you register to create a program, we save your name and e-mail address in a registry. This information is required in order for you to gain access to the service, obtain information about news related to the program, and for you to be contactable to provide us with feedback. In order to run The HIFE Program, and to observe the dissemination of the program and how it is used, the personal data – in some cases anonymised – will be disclosed to processors with which data processing agreements have been signed. You are entitled to request that Umeå University inform you about the personal data being processed that concerns you. In that case, submit a signed request to the Data Protection Officer pulo@umu.se .
You can deregister as a user on the site by sending us an e-mail. A revocation does not affect the legality of the use of personal data prior to this point. Your personal data is stored as long as is required by the law concerning public documents and government archives. In some cases, there may be a right to gain access to and, where possible, correct or delete personal data or restrict the processing related to the data subject, or to object to the processing. You are entitled to lodge a complaint regarding the use of your personal data. This can be submitted to Umeå University’s Data Protection Officer pulo@umu.se or directly to the Swedish Data Protection Authority.
